Microsoft released a new coding platform called MakeCode. Our Friday Code Club has been exploring the gaming section. Mr. Arias-Palomo (Adrian), is active in the developer community (beta) and one of his games "Jumpy Mateo Platformer" was recently featured by Microsoft!

Today was our last FLEX Friday for the year. The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle club met with James Dunning, Assistant General Manager at Casella who talked about how recycling in our region works. Students learned about what items you can and cannot recycle!

The after school garden club did not get a lot of support from Mother Nature this spring, but took full advantage of yesterday afternoon's sunny weather! They have prepped our beds, planted vegetables, and even started experimenting with our hydroponic carts!

The spring concert was last week, but our bands are still learning new music! Today they were playing the theme music to Mario Brothers while classmates took turn playing the actual Mario Brothers game using Mr. Arell's original Nintendo!

Our spring lost and found collection is now neatly displayed for parents to stop by and take a peak. Items not claimed after school let’s out for summer will be donated to Goodwill.

In the spirit of Arbor Day, and in memory of a former student, VCS Pre-K students planted a lilac bush near our school garden. Forester, Dave Wardrop and Veazie Town Manager, Mark Leonard assisted with the project!

VCS Chromebook Recycle Project
Veazie Community School is in the process of updating our Chromebook laptop devices for all students in grades 1 - 6. Instead of selling our used devices to low-bidding tech. suppliers who turn around and re-sell them for a high mark-up, we are offering our students the ability to purchase their own device at the very reasonable price of $30 (Lenovo N22). Money raised through this project will help offset the costs of new devices.
We are asking parents of students currently enrolled in grades 1 - 6 to complete the following survey:
